President Samia approves Chief Justice's retirement

President Samia Suluhu Hassan made the statement in Dodoma today April 5, 2025 during the inauguration of the Tanzania Judiciary Headquarters, the Judicial Service Commission, and Judges' Residences.

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has approved the retirement of Chief Justice Prof. Ibrahim Juma and urged judges to prepare for the transition, while also highlighting the significant reforms he has made in the judiciary.

She made the statement in Dodoma today April 5, 2025 during the inauguration of the Tanzania Judiciary Headquarters, the Judicial Service Commission, and Judges' Residences.

"I know Chief Justice, you have only a few months left before retirement, and I have no intention of clashing with the judges. My intention is to let you retire peacefully. So, esteemed judges, just prepare yourselves. The Chief Justice is going to rest," she said.
