CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged Tanzanians to ignore individuals attempting to fuel chaos and instead focus on protecting peace, working hard, and advancing national development.

Addressing a campaign rally in Sengerema District yesterday Samia reminded citizens that peace and unity remain the foundation of Tanzania’s progress, urging them to reject divisive rhetoric and maintain harmony as the country approaches the October 29 general election.
“Let them go their way, they are not one of us,” she said. “Some people cannot stand seeing Tanzania’s good name rising. Their only mission is to tarnish it. Ignore them and continue protecting our peace. We will honour our country by maintaining calm and holding elections free from violence.”
Samia said the government under her leadership has been steadfast in promoting development across key sectors, including agriculture, fisheries, and livestock, which have collectively boosted exports and strengthened the national economy.
She announced that her new administration will provide free vaccination for chickens, as part of broader efforts to enhance poultry health, increase production, and add value to exports. The plan, she said, follows the success of recent subsidised vaccination programmes for livestock, which improved yields and reduced losses for smallholder farmers.
“We started by vaccinating livestock at subsidised rates, and we will now extend similar support to poultry. This will raise productivity, expand exports, and empower rural farmers, especially women and youth,” she said.
Highlighting the country’s continued industrial and mining growth, Samia revealed that Sengerema will soon host the new Nyanzaga Gold Mine, one of the largest in the Lake Zone, expected to create jobs and stimulate local business. She said such projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to building a resilient, inclusive economy that benefits all citizens.
Meanwhile, CCM Arusha parliamentary aspirant Paul Makonda echoed Samia’s call for unity, urging Tanzanians not to listen to those spreading messages of hate and division.
“We must continue the spirit of peace, discipline, and hard work that defines Tanzania. Under Samia’s leadership, we are seeing genuine transformation,” Makonda said.
