CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged Tanzanian youth to remain patriotic and defend the country’s peace, warning that no progress can be achieved if national stability is compromised.

Addressing campaign rallies in Bukombe District, Geita Region,  Samia said Tanzania has enjoyed lasting peace since its formation and cautioned citizens against being influenced by individuals seeking to stir unrest.

She said since the Union was formed, Tanzania has fought only one war, against Idi Amin and for decades the nation has remained peaceful.

“We were born, raised, and continue to prosper in peace. Let’s protect it with all we have,” she said.

Samia stressed that without peace, all economic activities, including mining, trade, and agriculture, would come to a standstill.

She reminded the youth that Tanzania’s global respect stems from its stability, adding: “If we destroy that, we’ll have nowhere else to go. This is our home.”

She urged residents of Geita to turn out in large numbers on October 29 to cast their votes, noting that continued development depends on citizens’ participation.

The CCM candidate pledged to build milk-processing plants, food storage facilities, modern markets and ten irrigation schemes. She also promised to expand electricity access for miners, create more jobs for youth, and strengthen key sectors including education, water and livestock.

Samia commended Bukombe parliamentary aspirant Dr Doto Biteko for his tireless support in implementing government projects.

She cited his role in helping to formalise small-scale mining operations, allowing youth to benefit from the sector rather than face prosecution.

“Instead of arresting them, we made resources work for them, that’s what building humanity means,” she said.

Samia also highlighted her administration’s efforts to subsidise fertiliser, promote irrigation and support commercial farming to boost rural incomes.
