Tragic Scene in Mwanga – Wreckage of the Mvungi bus lies overturned near Kikweni, where many are feared dead following a fatal accident.
A tragic accident involving a Mvungi bus traveling from Ugweno in Mwanga district to Dar es Salaam has left many feared dead.
Eyewitnesses say the accident happened when the bus swerved to avoid a smaller vehicle, lost control, and skidded down a hillside near Kikweni in Msangeni Ward.
“We are retrieving bodies. The bus overturned, and several passengers have lost their lives. The bodies are being taken to Kifula Health Center,” said an eyewitness at the scene.
Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of casualties as rescue operations continue to assist survivors and assess the extent of the disaster.
