SIMBA Sports Club's media and communication manager, Ahmed Ally, has assured fans that the club’s leadership is actively involved in the ongoing transfer window, working tirelessly to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Ally (pictured) sought to ease concerns raised by supporters following online rumors suggesting that several key transfer targets for the club had instead joined rival teams. He dismissed those reports as deliberate attempts to tarnish Simba's image and inflate the market value of certain players.
“Our leaders are deeply engaged in various transfer processes. I urge Simba fans to remain patient as we finalize the signings aimed at improving our squad,” said Ally.
He added: “Do not be misled by social media reports claiming that every player we target has been signed by our competitors. Those are baseless rumors. The truth is, we have secured the players we truly wanted, and some names being floated out there were never on our list.
“Linking us to them is just a tactic to increase their value or to make us appear weak in the market. This season, we are very strong in the transfer dealings.”
Simba have already taken steps to formalize and communicate their transfer plans, starting with the announcements of players who have been released or sent out on loan. The club appears to be following a structured and strategic approach as they reshape their squad under head coach Fadlu Davids.
One of the players whose future had sparked speculation is attacking midfielder Joshua Mutale. However, Ally confirmed that Mutale remains firmly in the coach's plans for the new season. The Zambian international had an inconsistent debut campaign but showed flashes of brilliance, particularly in the closing stages of the 2024/25 season.
Initially struggling to make an impact after his arrival, Mutale eventually found his rhythm and earned the trust of coach Davids, who reinstated him into the starting lineup ahead of more established players like Kibu Denis.
Board member Rescentius Magori also commented on Mutale’s development and his value to the club. According to Magori, Simba had high expectations for Mutale and his compatriot, winger Deborah Mavambo, based on their performances prior to joining the Tanzanian giants.
“Mutale and Mavambo had been performing very well at their previous clubs. During pre-season, we genuinely believed they would become valuable assets for Simba,” said Magori. “Unfortunately, what unfolded during the season didn’t meet our expectations. It’s possible that adjusting to a new league affected their performance. Nonetheless, they are both talented players.”
While Mutale is now expected to stay and be given another opportunity to shine, the same cannot be confidently said for Mavambo. The winger is currently facing uncertainty over his future with the Msimbazi Street-based side.
According to insiders, he may be offloaded either permanently or on loan as the club looks to make space for new signings.
Simba’s technical bench, led by Davids, is reportedly working closely with the board to ensure the squad is well-balanced and competitive in all departments. With several domestic and continental assignments ahead, including the Mainland Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup, the club aims to build depth and quality across all positions.
Ally emphasized that transparency will be maintained throughout the transfer period and that official announcements will be made through the club’s verified platforms. He encouraged fans to ignore unverified transfer gossip and to trust the club’s leadership.
“Let’s stay calm and allow the management to complete the recruitment process,” he concluded. “Simba remain strong in the market, and everything is going according to plan.”
