LADY Luck has smiled on youths seeking to flourish in Tanzania's performing arts, as they have landed an opportunity to launch their pursuit of a successful career via participation in a talent search in Dar es Salaam.

A Dar es Salaam-based company, Kunta Studios, has set up a program dubbed 'Big Star', seeking to search for talents in, among others, comedy and singing. According to one of the company's officers, the new opportunity for talented young people in Tanzania will be focused on looking for talent in an array of art forms including singing, dancing, and illusionism.

"They should get ready to shine and be known in the world. This is their greatest opportunity to follow their dreams and show their talent, and become prominent stars," he said. The officer stated: "In this competition, every kind of talent is acceptable. Therefore, if they have any talent then they are the ones we are looking for." According to the officer, more than 15m/- in cash prizes are up for grabs in the competition.

The competition's eventual winner is set to walk away with 10m/-, the runner-up would be presented with 3m/-, and the third-placed would get 2m/-. "The winners will also receive a talent management contract and music recording contract from B-Xtra firm, and a brilliant advertising package from a Dar es Salaam TV and radio station," the officer noted.

The interview, according to him, will take place for three weeks at the headquarters of the Dar es Salaam TV and Radio Station at Mbezi Beach, from June 28-29, July 5, and the last day is slated for July 12. “Every Tanzanian from all corners of the country is welcome to register for the exercise," the officer said.

The aspiring youths, he disclosed, can register through the organizers' social media accounts, titled 'Big Stars'. The aspirants have also been urged to either watch programs run by the Television and radio stations or visit the organizers' website www.nyotabigi.com for more information concerning the project.
