SINGIDA Black Stars' spokesperson Hussein Massanza has reaffirmed the club’s determination to reach peak performance and make history by claiming their first-ever Federation Cup title.

Led by head coach David Ouma, Singida Black Stars have emerged as strong contenders this season.

Already assured of a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup thanks to their league performance, the club's morale has been further boosted by their impressive 3-1 semi-final victory over Simba SC last Saturday.

The stage is now set for a thrilling Federation Cup final between Singida Black Stars and defending champions Young Africans (Yanga).

The final promises to be a captivating encounter, with the venue expected to be announced after the conclusion of the Mainland Premier League season.

This final represents a rare clash between the two teams outside of league play. In the Premier League this season, Young Africans have beaten Singida Black Stars twice -1-0 in the first round and 2-1 in the second.

Despite these setbacks, Singida Black Stars are riding high after earning their first-ever win over Simba and are eager to replicate that feat against the league leaders.

Young Africans, however, come into the match with a clear upper hand in both head-to-head results and overall league performance.

Team Standings: Young Africans: 1st place, 73 points from 27 games, 71 goals scored, 10 conceded, goal difference +61. Singida Black Stars: 4th place, 53 points from 28 games, 40 goals scored, 22 conceded, goal difference +18.

However, Massanza pushed back against any criticism that Singida Black Stars underperforms against Young Africans, asserting that the upcoming final will silence doubters and prove the club's competitive intent.

“As a club, we are resolute in our ambition to win our first piece of silverware this season,” Massanza said. “We want to assure our fans that we will be victorious in this match. Despite perceptions that we don’t give our all against Young Africans, this final will demonstrate otherwise.”

He further noted that while the team has yet to secure a competitive victory over Young Africans, they did claim a win in a behind-closed-doors friendly, which he believes reflects their true potential.

“We aim to replicate that level of performance in the final. We are currently very satisfied with the quality of our squad as we approach this decisive game,” he added.
