Five left dead, 49 Injured as bus crashes into truck in Dodoma
FIVE people have died, and 49 others sustained injuries after a bus belonging to AN Classic rammed into the back of a cargo truck at Chigongwe in Dodoma.
Acting Dodoma Regional Police Commander Anania Amo told Nipashe Digital that the crash occurred yesterday at 10 p.m.
He explained that the bus, registered as T405 BYS and driven by Swalehe Mnyapi, collided with the rear of a cargo truck, registration number T365 EDD with trailer T206 EEZ, while attempting to overtake.
"The crash made the bus lose control and overturn, killing five people and injuring 49. Among the injured, 48 are at Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital, while one is at Benjamin Mkapa Zonal Referral Hospital for further treatment. Eleven have serious leg injuries," he said.
