US President Donald Trump has decided to halt all military aid to Ukraine following a tense Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In response, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has presented a plan to mobilize 800 billion euros ($841.5bn) for European defense, which includes immediate military support for Ukraine.

Trump's decision came after he accused Zelenskyy of not seeking peace as long as he had American backing, a move that could severely impact Ukraine’s efforts to resist Russia’s invasion.

Additionally, Trump announced new tariffs, with a 25% levy on goods from Mexico and Canada set to take effect Tuesday, along with a 10% tariff on Chinese imports.
