Jafo lauds beverage manufacturing firm for commitment to responsible business

MINISTER for Industry and Trade, Seleman Jafo has toured the Dar es Salaam plant of Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd, commending the company for its efforts in responsible business practices and community engagement.

The visit, conducted over the weekend included a tour of the production facility and a strategic meeting with the company’s management team, where Coca-Cola Kwanza — a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) — outlined its contribution to Tanzania’s economy and its role in fostering inclusive development.

The firm’s General Manager, David Chait said the company’s operations are guided by values of integrity, sustainability, and shared value creation. “People are at the centre of everything we do; from our employees to the communities we serve. Community involvement allows us to bring positive, measurable change to both society and our business,” he said.

Chait noted that Coca-Cola Kwanza is committed to diversity and inclusion, particularly in creating economic opportunities for women, youth, and people with disabilities.

The company also highlighted its focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, which it views as essential to building a stronger social license to operate in Tanzania.

Coca-Cola Kwanza pledged to continue strengthening partnerships that support responsible business practices and inclusive economic growth across the country.
