ECONOMIST Masumbuko Mwaluko has collected nomination forms seeking the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)'s endorsement to contest for the parliamentary seat of Manyoni, formerly known as Manyoni East.
Speaking to journalists today after receiving the forms, Mwaluko said his intention is to be nominated by the party so he can help the government address various challenges facing citizens in the constituency.
He said the challenges include access to essential social services such as water, healthcare, education, and infrastructure to spur development in the area.
“I would also like to thank our Party Chairperson and President Samia Suluhu Hassan, and her top aide, CCM Secretary General Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, for establishing clear and well-organized guidelines for collecting and returning nomination forms,” said Mwaluko.
Meanwhile, CCM District Secretary for Manyoni, Maimuna Likunguni, said that so far a total of 25 aspirants have collected nomination forms in the district’s two constituencies, including Itigi.
“In Manyoni constituency, nine aspirants have collected forms, including two women. In Itigi, 16 aspirants have come forward, two of whom are women. The process is progressing smoothly with no challenges reported. I take this opportunity to call on all eligible party members to step forward and take advantage of this opportunity provided by their party to run for office,” said Likunguni.
