Monti International School has been hailed as a model for 21st-century education by Kinondoni District Administrative Secretary (DAS) Warda Abdallah, who commended the school for its forward-thinking approach to nurturing young talent and embracing digital innovation.

Speaking during the school’s fourth graduation ceremony held over the weekend in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam, DAS Warda applauded Monti’s use of the Cambridge International Curriculum and its commitment to developing children’s talents in line with global trends and technological advancements.

“We are proud to see a school like Monti International laying such a strong foundation for future generations,” said DAS Warda. “The way children here are being taught—not only academic skills but also creativity, critical thinking, and the safe use of Artificial Intelligence—reflects the kind of education Tanzania needs as we move forward.”

The DAS emphasized the growing importance of strong parent-teacher partnerships in shaping the next generation, especially in an era where technology is both a tool and a challenge.

“As AI becomes part of our everyday lives, it is essential that parents remain close to their children, guiding them and staying involved in their education. We must ensure this generation remains innovative, ethical, and independent,” she noted.

Monti International School, which serves learners from age one through primary, has established itself as a progressive institution that balances academic excellence with talent development. The school’s founder and director, Fatma Fernandes, shared the school’s bold plans for expansion and its commitment to inclusive education.

“We’re building more than just classrooms—we’re building future leaders,” said Fernandes. “From sports infrastructure like swimming pools and basketball courts to a new, state-of-the-art campus in Madale with both day and boarding facilities, our vision is to empower every child to discover and grow their unique talents.”

Fernandes also highlighted Monti’s early integration of AI into the teaching process—not only as a tool for students but also to enhance teacher effectiveness.

“With AI now embedded in our systems, tasks like lesson planning that used to take hours can be completed quickly and efficiently. This gives our teachers more time to connect with students in meaningful ways. Importantly, all digital tools we use are child-safe and monitored,” she added.

The school is also known for its inclusive approach, supporting learners with diverse needs, including children with autism.

One of the attending parents, Kaley Milao, praised the school’s forward-looking ethos:

“Monti is preparing our children for a world driven by technology and innovation. As a parent, I feel reassured knowing that my child is being equipped not just to survive—but to thrive—in this new era. The new campus is a welcome step toward even greater impact.”

As Tanzania positions itself for digital transformation, Monti International School stands out as a beacon of what modern, holistic education can look like—blending values, technology, and a deep understanding of every child’s potential.
