IN recent days, Kenya has witnessed multiple fatal accidents resulting in over 40 deaths.

A plane crash in Mwihoko, Kiambu County, claimed six lives, while a collision involving a train and a bus near Morendat farm in Naivasha resulted in eight fatalities.

The majority of the casualties occurred on the Kisumu-Kakamega highway, where a bus accident killed 26 people and injured 28 others.

The investigation into the victims’ identities is expected to conclude before Monday.

The government has promised to cover all medical and funeral expenses for those affected.

The latest accident involved a school bus transporting mourners from Nyahera to Nyakach in Kisumu County. The bus overturned while attempting a turn near the Coptic area.

Initially, the death toll from this accident was reported as 20, including 10 men, 10 women, and an eight-month-old infant. However, additional deaths have since been confirmed as others succumb to injuries while receiving treatment.
