Samia opens CCM Presidential Race, pledges to deliver Vision 2050

THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Presidential Candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan, has declared that the race towards the October elections has officially begun, with campaigns set to kick off on August 28 and conclude on October 28, after which they will await the people’s verdict.

The Head of State  made the remarks today at the CCM Headquarters grounds after collecting her presidential nomination form alongside her running mate, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi.

She said they are ready to face the campaign in whatever form it takes, committed to carrying out the mandate given by the party.

She also noted that under the Vision 2050 plan, they aim to implement major projects to ensure Tanzania advances in development, including building a self-reliant economy.

She added: "CCM is well positioned to deliver on this vision due to the government’s capacity and experience under the party’s leadership.”

She said the nomination form will be taken to all regions to seek endorsements, urging strong support in the process.

The vice-presidential candidate, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, expressed his gratitude for being chosen as a running mate, pledging to work tirelessly to secure a resounding victory for the party and to serve as her supportive partner, not a competitor.
