CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan today continued with her campaign trail in Lindi Region, rallying support in Ndanda, Ruangwa and Mtama constituencies where she underscored her party’s manifesto as the roadmap for Tanzania’s socio-economic transformation.

Samia told residents that the CCM manifesto focuses on various key pillars which incldude improving human dignity, strengthening agriculture and livestock, industrialisation and massive investment in social services and infrastructure — all designed to uplift livelihoods and safeguard national unity.

In Ndanda, she assured farmers that her government would continue expanding access to subsidised fertiliser, improve irrigation schemes and support cash crops such as cashew nuts, sesame, groundnuts and pigeon peas, which are increasingly becoming major sources of income for households. 

She said industrial parks for processing the crops would be established in Lindi to add value and create employment.

Addressing a rally in Ruangwa, the home constituency of Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, President Samia highlighted her pledge to expand road, bridges and other key infrastructure for smooth transport and transportation of produce.

She added that new water dams, rural electrification projects and road upgrades were part of her government’s wider efforts to unlock opportunities for communities.

In Mtama, she outlined CCM’s plans to further improve health and education services. She said the construction and equipping of hospitals, health centres and schools had already transformed access to services in the region, with more investments planned under the new manifesto.

She assured that water scarcity will become a thing of the past serving people with reliable water services.

Supporting production of food and cash crops as we continue to seek to makerts in various areas.

She said the new universal health coverage will include serving the elderly and vulnerable people with free health services.

Samia also pledged to strengthen infrastructure links in Lindi through the expansion of the road network and improved power supply from the national grid, which she said would boost trade and attract investors.

“Our manifesto is about building prosperity for every Tanzanian, ensuring no region is left behind. What we have done in the past five years is proof that we can achieve even more if entrusted again with leadership,” she said.

Thousands of residents turned up at the rallies, with CCM leaders urging them to turn out in large numbers during polling day and vote for the party’s candidates.
