CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on Tanzanians to reject gender discrimination in leadership, saying development has no gender and national progress requires unity and equal participation.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Mugumu, Serengeti District today October 10, Samia said she had heard claims that some voters are reluctant to elect women leaders due to traditional beliefs.

“Let me make it clear, development has no gender,” she said. “In just four years as President, I have achieved significant progress women are loyal and highly capable leaders.”

She added that both male and female candidates in Mara Region and beyond are equally dedicated to serving the people and advancing national development.
Samia urged Tanzanians to stand together and build the nation with unity, saying: “What matters most is that we are all Tanzanians — let us remain united and work for our country’s prosperity.”
