Junior cricketers put their skills to show in the past Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) Junior League game in Dar es Salaam.

MAGADU Boys' cricketers cruised to a hard-fought three-run win over Mbuyuni Boys in the 2025 Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) Junior League clash in Morogoro last Sunday.

Even though the Magadu Boys were not quite impressive with the bat, they exhibited a spirited defence when fielding to keep the Mbuyuni Boys at bay and eventually secure the crucial victory.

Having garnered the opportunity to start batting in the tie at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) ground, the Magadu Boys battled to amass 61/1 in the scheduled 20 overs.

Opener Fikiri Juma so far managed to prove his worth with the bat during Magadu Boys' innings, having scored an unbeaten 27 runs.

The batsman successfully made up for fellow opener Samir Amini's less convincing outing, as the latter scored nine runs in his brief stay.

Juma forged a solid partnership with Kelvin Joseph, seeing to it that the Magadu Boys made their way back respectably once their innings ended.

Joseph chipped in with unbeaten five runs at a strike rate of 50.00.

Twenty extras given away by the Mbuyuni Boys' bowlers somehow improved the Magadu Boys' score.

The Ally Hassan-led Mbuyuni Boys, in response, played their hearts out but, unfortunately, did not manage to mount a successful chase of a modest target of 62 runs, having been bowled out for 58 runs.

Krishna Madan and Akram Fadhili were the cricketers with a performance worth noting once Mbuyuni Boys took the crease, with fellow batsmen's early dismissals frustrating the squad's efforts to mount a successful chase.

Madan was the batsman with the most runs for Mbuyuni Boys, having notched 23 runs.

Fadhili also showed his resoluteness in the otherwise fruitless chase, chipping in with 12 runs for Mbuyuni Boys.

There was indeed hardly anything to write home about for the remainder of the squad's players, given the youngsters had brief spells at the crease.

Twenty-one extras conceded by Magadu Boys' bowlers somewhat boosted the Mbuyuni Boys' figure.

Samil Dotto and Amini gallantly led the Magadu Boys' ruthless bowling, as the team efficiently contained the Mbuyuni Boys' batting unit.

Dotto was the most impressive cricketer when Magadu Boys fielded after securing 3-6 and a 1.50 economy rate.

Amini had a great outing given the youngster ended his turn with 3-8 and a 2.00 economy rate.
