The community has been urged to reflect on the importance of supporting those in need, following a heartfelt gesture by Green Acres Schools, which donated assorted maternal supplies to Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Lilian Mwanga, Health Secretary at Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital, issued the call in Dar es Salaam over the weekend as the hospital received the donated supplies.

She urged the community to recognize the significance of supporting those in need, especially in times of hardship, after a generous donation of essential maternal supplies, including milk, wipes, sugar, juice, and biscuits,  encouraging others to take similar actions and contribute to the well-being of those who need it most.

"We received a generous donation of essential maternal supplies, including milk, wipes, sugar, juice, and biscuits, from Green Acres School as they marked their 25th anniversary. I urge the community to recognize the significance of supporting those in need, especially in times of hardship,” she said.

She added: “This donation also served as another valuable gesture in teaching children the importance of love, empathy, and social responsibility. By actively participating in such initiatives, the students learned first-hand the impact of kindness and generosity.”

Jacklyne Rushaigo, Green Acres Schools Managing Director, stated that the anniversary provided an opportunity to choose donating as a way to show love and hope to those in need, sharing a few items that could make a difference.

"Our 25th anniversary was not just a time to celebrate, but also a chance to give back. We chose to donate as a way of showing love and hope to those in need. Even small contributions like these can make a meaningful difference in someone's life."

CRDB Bank PLC Coast Region served as the main sponsor of the donation initiative, playing a key role in supporting the efforts of Green Acres School to reach mothers in need. Their contribution not only helped make the gesture possible but also underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing community needs and promoting a culture of giving back to society.
