CCM presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan has said that Tanzania’s major development projects are the outcome of strict financial discipline and effective control of public resources.
Addressing a campaign rally in Nzega Town, Tabora Region today September 10,Samia told residents that the government’s prudent use of funds has enabled the execution of large-scale projects that require significant financial investment.
“These development strides are possible because of sound management of public money, ensuring that every shilling is directed towards transforming people’s lives,” she said.
Samia explained that, under her leadership, Tanzania has strengthened oversight of public servants, curbing corruption and instilling accountability in the management of government finances. This, she noted, has contributed to Tanzania’s remarkable improvement in international rankings for anti-corruption performance.
“Our nation is now recognised globally for its progress in combating corruption, a sign that we are moving in the right direction,” she told cheering supporters.
The CCM presidential hopeful urged Tabora residents to grant the ruling party another mandate in the October general election, saying continued good governance and financial prudence would sustain and expand the delivery of essential development projects.
She highlighted that the CCM manifesto provides a clear roadmap for further investments in infrastructure, social services and community development, ensuring that projects already underway are completed and new initiatives launched.
“I am here to ask for your trust and your votes, so that together we can consolidate the achievements and open a new chapter of prosperity,” Dr Samia said.
Her campaign rally in Nzega drew large crowds, with CCM leaders and parliamentary candidates also outlining commitments to accelerate development in Tabora Region, particularly in agriculture, education, health, and infrastructure.
The October election will see Samia, who became Tanzania’s first female president in 2021, seeking a fresh mandate to lead the country for the next five years.
