A THRILLING fight night aimed at promoting young talent in boxing and kickboxing is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam on November 30 at Pulse Hall.

Speaking to journalists, event organizer Daniel Kijo confirmed that the event will feature 12 matches showcasing fighters from Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

He added that all participants are in the final stages of preparation and will undergo weigh-ins on November 29.

Kijo emphasized that the event aligns with efforts to support President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision of advancing sports development in Tanzania.

“Our goal is to create a platform for young people to showcase their abilities and talent. This event is not just about competition but also about nurturing and discovering talent for the future of boxing in Tanzania,” Kijo remarked.

Karim Bhaloo, the event's initiator and one of the boxers stepping into the ring, announced that a new combat sport called Power Slash will be introduced during the event.

“I realized there is a wealth of untapped talent in Tanzania. Through this initiative, we aim to inspire interest in boxing and introduce Power Slash, a sport that is hugely popular abroad but new to Tanzania,” Bhaloo said.

Hamis Mwintayi, one of the kickboxers slated to face Bhaloo, expressed his readiness and urged Tanzanians to support the initiative.

“I’ve trained hard and am fully prepared for this fight. I encourage all Tanzanians to come and support us as we work to elevate the sport in the country,” Mwintayi stated.
