With the opening ceremony slated to be hosted at one of the city's hotels, the tournament's organizers revealed the excitement is at fever pitch as cricket fans prepare for weeks of top-tier action. Now firmly established as the largest privately held cricket tournament in Tanzania, the Petrofuel TCA Caravans Cup is organised annually by Caravans Cricket Club, in association with the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA).

 The tournament, the organisers disclosed, combines the best of Tanzania's club cricket in a franchise-style format, reflecting the energy and competitiveness of the world's leading cricket leagues.Having returned as the tournament main sponsor, Petrofuel (T) Limited continues its steadfast support for the sport, helping to grow the competition in scale, visibility, and impact.

 The tournament, the organisers revealed, not only entertains but also serves as a key platform for developing local talent, offering Tanzania's cricket players the opportunity to play alongside experienced foreign professionals.

 This year's edition, the organisers noted, features eight top-tier teams - defending champions and hosts Alliance Caravans, 2024 finalists Aurobindo Aga Khan SC, Flashnet Aces, Harab Motors Pak Stars, Park Mobile Lions, and Raah Upanga Club, as well as Jiuzhou Patel Samaj and KX Intek Gymkhana, who earned their places through this month's fiercely contested play-in round.

 The tournament adopts a round robin structure, with each team facing all others once, the organisers said. The top four teams will advance to the knockout phase, including qualifiers and eliminators, leading up to the grand final on August 10.

 All matches will be played at the historic Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, a venue deeply woven into the fabric of Tanzania's cricket. Tonight's launch event, the organisers revealed, will unveil the official team line-ups and this year's jerseys, marking the ceremonial start of the tournament.

The gathering is expected to reflect the growing scale and stature of the tournament, which has drawn considerable attention from corporate sponsors and cricket fans alike.

In addition to Petrofuel as the title sponsor, the tournament is backed by an impressive line-up of supporters.

Platinum sponsors include Alliance Insurance, ASAS, Automark, Ras Logistics, and Pepsi. Franchise sponsors for the eight teams comprise Aurobindo, e-Parking, Flashnet, Harab Motors, KX Intek, Jiuzhou, and Raah Holdings.
