CCM Presidential Candidate submits forms, INEC confirms eligibility

THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Presidential Candidate, Samia Suluhu Hassan, and her running mate, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, have officially submitted their nomination forms at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices in Njedengwa, Dodoma.

President  Samia had collected the forms on August 9 this year.

 A total of 17 other political parties also collected forms to seek the mandate to lead the country. These include NRA, AAFP, Chama Makini, NLD, UPDP, ADA, TADEA, UMD, TLP, CCK, CHAUMA, DP, SAU, CUF, ADC, UDP, NCCR Mageuzi, and ACT Wazalendo.

The CCM candidate, accompanied by senior party leaders including CCM Vice Chairman (Mainland) Stephen Wasira, arrived at the commission’s offices  today, August 27, 2027, at around 7:50 a.m.

 They were received by INEC Director Ramadhan Kailima.

Dressed in the party’s trademark green attire,  President Samia was escorted by regional and national CCM leaders, including Dodoma Regional Chairman Alhaj Adamu Kimbisa. 

She completed the submission process in 48 minutes before stepping out to briefly address CCM leaders such as Secretary General Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro and Vice Chairman Wasira.

INEC Director Ramadhan Kailima confirmed that the candidates met all the requirements outlined in Article 39 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania (1977).

 He announced that the commission had officially cleared President Samia and her running mate to contest in the upcoming elections.

As part of the campaign preparations, the Head of State  was handed a Land Cruiser vehicle, which she will use throughout the election campaign period.
